Current topics

  1. Technical evaluation of biological wastewater treatment technologies

    • there are several parameters that need to be measured to ensure the a safe and healthy water environment.

    • several technologies are already developed, however, they need to be rechecked every once in a while.

  2. Development of enhanced in-sewer purification technologies

    • The sewer pipe can be used to as a wastewater treatment technology that can potentially work in synergy with existing wastewater management systems.

    • It is still in the early stages of development.

    • Pictured on the left is a working reactor for enhanced in-sewer purification by the intermittent contact oxidation process (ICOP).

  3. Detection and monitoring of metabolic transformation products after biochemical processes.

    • The transformation of organic matter (or any metabolite that can be transformed biologically) can be monitored by their transformation products.

    • various techniques can be employed and validated towards the goal of monitoring these metabolites.
